The
Greater Lehigh Valley
Writers Group, GLVWG, is a
not-for-profit organization of
Lehigh Valley writers who
seek to provide a support network
and resource field for its membership.
Established in February 1993, the
group has grown from a mere five to
nearly two-hundred active
writers of many genres and
specialties.
Monthly Meetings:
Monthly membership meetings of the
GLVWG feature topical lectures and
group discussions on a variety of
issues related to the craft and
business of writing.
The Writers Café:
Much of what GLVWG members can
learn from one another comes not
from format interviews or prepared
speeches, but from the art of
conversation, where improvised
exchanges garner new contacts,
shared tips and resources, inspiration
and emotional support. The Writers
Café promotes the type of
interpersonal alchemy that defies
prediction.
Critique Groups:
To promote writing excellence,
GLVWG facilitates the formation of
critique groups, which consist of
writers who meet at their convenience
and share their work in order to find
ways to improve it.
Workshops:
Who among us can say they have no
need to improve their craft? Through
workshops offered to members,
GLVWG offers area writers the
opportunity to learn from master
teachers and published writers.
Annual Writers Conference:
Ever wonder if you have what it takes
to get published? The Write Stuff is
the place to find out. Each spring,
GLVWG sponsors a conference to
bring together writers and publishing
professionals for an intensive, multi-day
event.
The Write Stuff features workshops,
keynote addresses and plenty of
networking opportunities to interact
with writers from all areas of the
publishing spectrum. Participants
also have the opportunity to meet
with a potential agent or editor.
