Stop Bullying Bobby!  Helping Children Cope with Teasing and Bullying, ISBN 0-88282-253-5.  Based on a true story, a young neighborhood girl discovers that her new neighbor is being bullied.  She befriends the boy, and together with their parents, teachers, and a very special counselor, help others to understand the importance of accepting differences and reaching out to others. Visions of Existence-Simplicities in Nature, a short collection of poetry and art exploring human emotions in relation to nature, written and illustrated by Dana Smith-Mansell.  While listed with most bookstores via ISBN, it is advisable to contact the author for purchase.

Dana Smith-Mansell writes and creates at the base of Sharp Mountain, in Pottsville, PA.  Her work is inspired by the visions that surround her, including her three West Highland Terriers, one Scottish Terrier, and one domestic short hair matriarch cat.  Nature surrounds her home, and Dana’s work frequently includes observations of her environment, and is often reflective of the lives of others. 

Dana’s freelance writing has appeared in a variety of print and web publications such as; Letters to My Teacher-Adams Media, 2006, Letters to My Mother-Adams Media, 2007, Unconditional Love:  Pet Tales by the Human Who Love Them, compiled by Avie Townsend, 2004 (include one of her pet stories and animal art), Cats Do It Better than People-Adams Media, 2005, Absolute Write’s newsletter, Notes-in-the-Margin Newsletter, and three of her pet stories are scheduled for publication in a yet unnamed title compiled by John Calli upcoming in 2007,  to name a few.  Her poetry has appeared in such titles as; Ideals for Woman to Live By-Blue Mountain Arts, 2006, For Better or For Worse-Poet Works Press, 2005, Cosmic Brownies, Sun Rising Poetry Press, 2005, and Mind Mutations, Sun Rising Poetry, Press, 2005, to name a few.

Dana also writes for the greeting card and gift market with publication by; American Greetings, Trinity Enterprises, Yippie Cards, Gallant Greetings, Designer Greetings, and Oak Brook Designs.  She has illustrated title covers for Shadow Bandits, a middle reader for children by Cindy Davis, Circus Bandits-the second title in the “Bandit Series” by Cindy Davis, and has provided illustrations and photography for other publications.

Dana has a BS in Special Education, an MS in Behavior Disorders, and has worked in the filed of Special Education for many years. She is a full member of the Society of Children’s Book Writer’s and Illustrators, a member of Pennwriters, Berks Arts Council, the GLVWG, Schuylkill County Historical Society, The Council for Exceptional Children, The National Association for the Education of Young Children, and is a member of her local Emergency Animal Response Team.

She has volunteered for hospice, participates in Scottie and Westie Rescue, is active within her church, participates in pet therapy, and enjoys sharing her stories with children and adults.  Dana hopes to touch the lives of others through her work.
