While
screenwriting requires a command of the same fictional elements
that our GLVWG fiction writers study--character motivation, rising
conflict, and dialogue among them--it also requires considerations
unique to the film industry. If you have an interest in writing
for film or television, join this special interest group to critique
and discuss scripts as well as share other common screenwriting
concerns and interests.
In December 2005, this
small group of GLVWG members met with Lehigh Valley film maker Zeke
Zelker, about whom screenwriting committee chair Bill Hartin
wrote:
His energy was double
espresso, and his warmth and charm belied his recent acclaim at
the Sundance Film Festival for "Loggerheads". We found
Zeke approachable and encouraging but reality based. As he left
(nearly two hours after his absolute, drop-dead departure time)
he admonished us to write, write, write, and then write some more
-- for the rest of our lives.
Bill Hartin's Screenwriting Group will meet on Monday, 2/29 at 7:00 p.m. at Tracy's Cafe in Easton, corner of Cattell and Monroe. The cafe is closed but the front door will be open for attendees.
Check back for updates
on newly scheduled meetings. If you would like to join this group,
contact Bill Hartin at hartinhouse@hotmail.com.
