Christine A. Krahling
Writer and Publicist

Christine A. Krahling is a freelance writer and public relations consultant. She has published more than 40 articles on the arts, philanthropy, health, food, lifestyle topics, and book and restaurant reviews. Her essay, “The Most Meaningful Legacies Can’t be Measured,” appears in the Hallmark Gift Book, 50 Truths Worth Knowing. The Morning Call published her commentary on domestic violence on their Op-Ed page in 2007. Her work has been featured in Lehigh Valley Literary Review; Untitled: The Literary Magazine of University College-Rutgers University; Working Mother; Lehigh Valley Style; Berks County Living; Lehigh Valley Marketplace; The Elucidator; The Saucon News; The Allentown Times; New Jersey Jewish News; The Jewish Star, and special sections of The Morning Call. She is a contributor to the book, Gluten Free for a Healthy Life and the recipient of awards for both essay writing and poetry. Her photos have appeared in The Saucon News, The Easton News, and Forks Forum.
 
Christine coordinated a scholarship program for special needs children while working in the nonprofit sector, obtaining over $75,000 in grant funding as a result of written grant proposals. She assisted in obtaining over $300,000 in charitable gift annuities in just a one-year period. She also secured a $1,000 grant for Edward Tracy Elementary School (Palmer Twp, PA) in 2007 to implement an after school Spanish club. Christine also wrote a philanthropic directive for the Greater Lehigh Valley Writers' Group in 2004.

 

Christine holds an associate's degree and public relations certificate from Middlesex County College in New Jersey. Her experience includes media relations, writing ad copy and press releases, marketing, and event planning. Her education also includes completing a PR seminar titled, How to Get Booked on Oprah. Christine was part of Sagra Cooking's event team for the Bill O'Reilly reception held at the State Theatre in 2007. Christine’s client list includes Rodale, Inc. (Emmaus, PA and New York City) and award winners in both the custom home building and exercise/wellness industries, along with clients in the fields of publishing, real estate, restaurant management and the arts. Christine is also an Independent Sales Representative for Beijo Bags.

 

Christine has taught a children’s Spanish class and was a Girl Scout leader. She is the founder of the Friends of Fiction Book Club and the vice-president of GFWC-Easton Area Women's Club. She has been interviewed by The Express-Times about book clubs. She is also a member of the Greater Lehigh Valley Writer's Group. Christine lives in the Lehigh Valley with her husband and two daughters.
