Mike Boushell is a published
author and professional speaker. A retired English teacher and varsity
coach, Mike is able to call upon over thirty years of teaching and
coaching experience to enlighten and entertain audiences ranging
from teachers organizations through youth groups. He has been a
speaker at colleges, high schools, middle schools, and writers groups.
He has a background in American Literature, Creative Writing, Poetry,
the Novel, and the Short Story. In addition he has taught a graduate
level course on coaching for Beaver College and Duquesne University.
He enjoys speaking about sports and their positive influence on
young people.
Mike frequently draws from
his personal experiences as a coach and as a teacher to entertain
audiences from ages nine to ninety. Known as a great storyteller,
Mike is considered both a humorist and an educator. He is flexible
enough to tailor his presentation to the group's needs, and willing
to do just that.

Recent
Writings:
Mike's first novel, Freshman Flash, published by Royal Fireworks
Press (NY), has been named by the PA School Librarians Association
to its Master List of Recommended Readings for Young Readers - grades
6-8. It has been nominated for a PA Young Readers Choice Award for
2004.
His second novel, Gridiron Hero, also published by Royal
Fireworks Press (NY), has been named to its Recommended Reading
List for Young Adults (for 2004) by The Kansas State Readers Circle.
Mike's third novel, Freshmen
Five, is scheduled for release this summer.
In addition to his coaching experience, Mike was a three sport standout
in high school and later a starting member of two state championship
football teams at East Stroudsburg University in 1964 and 1965.
Mike was named East Stroudsburg
High School's Most Valuable Football Player in 1963 and selected
to its Football Wall of Fame in 2003.
Negotiable Speaking Fees:
Mike's speaking fees range from $100.00 to $800.00 (plus expenses)
per session but are negotiable. In addition he has been known to
waive or greatly reduce them for charitable causes, nonprofit organizations
and youth groups.
